301 bypass mainly uses HTTP 301 status codes while traversing the GFW;
The primary scenario is: allowing domestic search engine crawlers to pass through the GFW / Mobile wall, reach the blocked domain using the 301 status code, and thereby transfer search engine ranking weight from the old blocked domain to the new domain.
Search engines such as Baidu, Google, Shenma, Sogou, etc. require some time to refresh their indexes; based on keyword popularity, result updates may take from a few hours to about a week.
In theory, domestic search engines recognize HTTP 301 status codes and transfer ranking weight to the new domain. Over the following hours to days, search results will gradually replace the previous blocked domain with the new unblocked domain.
For 301-based traversal there is a technical bottleneck: one IP node can only redirect to a single new domain.
Therefore, a single IP can only correspond to [one original blocked domain] and [one new domain for 301 redirect / SEO weight transfer]. However, one physical server can have multiple IPs and therefore support multiple nodes.
You can add IPs or nodes. Because data centers have limited IP resources and caps on the number added each time, we recommend confirming in advance how many nodes and IPs you need when first configuring the server.
